Paumanok Path: Montauk Section

The last and best stretch of Long Island's 125-mile mega-trail, running through Hither Woods and Camp Hero to finish at Montauk Point. Ocean bluffs, moraine hills, and actual solitude a few miles from the Surf Lodge crowd. This is the hike that makes people shut up about the Catskills.
LOCAL TIP
Park free at the Hither Hills West Overlook lot on Route 27 and hike east. White blazes mark the Paumanok; carry water, there is none out there.
