Jones Beach Bikeway (Ellen Farrant Memorial Bikeway)

The classic 5-mile paved run alongside the Wantagh Parkway from Cedar Creek Park over the bays to Jones Beach, with salt marsh and boat traffic the whole way. Link it to the Ocean Parkway Coastal Greenway and you have roughly 20 miles of car-free riding to Captree. Biking to the beach is a South Shore rite of passage.
LOCAL TIP
Start at Cedar Creek Park in Seaford where parking is free, and ride into the wind on the way out so it pushes you home. Summer weekends get packed by 10am.
