An 1845 Greek Revival mansion and county park in St. James, once home to a NYC mayor and now home to craft festivals, holiday boutiques, and one of Long Island's most notoriously haunted Octobers. The white-columned house against the lawn is pure old Long Island.
LOCAL TIP
Come for the fall haunted mansion if you dare, but the summer craft festival with the house open for wandering is the better family play; the St. James General Store is two minutes away.
